BCS Plans to Add 7th Conference

The Mountain West, or any of the other five non-BCS leagues, could gain automatic qualifier status by 2012, BCS coordinator John Swofford said Thursday. The BCS commissioners quietly decided in September to allow a seventh automatic qualifier league (or AQ) in 2012 and 2013 if one meets a set of criteria during an existing four-year review.
