USC has gone the routes of at least feeling out Jaime Dixon, something they needed to officially get out of the way. Next up Reggie Theus. The former NMSU and Sacramento (NBA) head coach, and former Pitino assistant, is a good fit since he’ll take the job regardless of potential NCAA sanctions. USC AD Garrett would love to have a coach with some pro experience, ala Pete Carroll.
Updated USC potential candidates:
Jim Cleamons – Lakers assistant
Craig Robinson – Oregon St. coach
Seth Greenberg – VPI coach
Jim Boylen – Utah coach
PJ Carlesimo – former NBA/Seton Hall coach
Bobby Braswell – Cat St Northridge coach
Brian Shaw – Lakers assistant
Not Candidates: Lon Kruger – UNLV, Jaime Dixon – Pitt, Reggie Theus – former NMSU/Sacramento (NBA) coach
At Holy Cross, a few names top the list:
Dennis Wolff – former BU coach
Greg Herenda – UM-Lowell coach
Tom Herrion – Pitt assistant
Sean Kearney – Notre Dame assistant
Joe Dooley – Kansas assistant
Steve Donahue – Cornell coach
