The PilotOnline is speculating that the CAA will eventually expand with Stonybrook and Fordham to bring some regionalization to potential divisions. Fordham is seeking a conference home and Stonybrook currently participates as an associate member in the Big South.
If such expansion to 16 teams happened, ideally the division members would play all 7 other division opponents each year to determine a division champion with the overall CAA champion being decided by best overall record. The divisions would look as such:
CAA North:
Maine
UNH
Northeastern
UMass
URI
Fordham
Hofstra
Stonybrook
CAA South:
Villanova
Delaware
Towson
JMU
Richmond
W&M;
ODU
Georgia St.
