Fridge stayed because Maryland athletics director Debbie Yow has no money. The state said no. The alumni association said no. Now, she is stuck with the Fridge and has a million dollar payment due next year. Let's hear it for Yow's managerial skills.

If I were the athletics director a middling ACC school (and aren't they are middling except for Miami), then I would be on the phone with Mike Leach. No other coach will make my football program relevant and interesting immediately like Leach. Too bad none of the ACC athletics directors have the stones to make the deal.

Al Groh is also gone. The Fridge might be gone. Charlie is probably gone. Dodge might be out of here. Other than that, there might not be too many changes.

As much as I think Locksley is a coward and liar, UNM lacks the funds to buy him out. Too bad. The economy is taking too much of a toll on public college's finances to pay large buyouts.

I don't doubt the list or its order, but I suspect Hawaii, Wazzu, UCLA and CU have the funds to issue walking papers.
