University of South Florida South Florida Fires Jim Leavitt

USF has fired coach Jim Leavitt.

The firing seems to be less of a result of the alleged incident with a player and more about Leavitt’s attitude about the issue. Expected candidates include Florida defensive line coach Dan McCarney, former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville and Michigan offensive coordinator Calvin Mage. Others include ECU coach Skip Holtz and former Clemson coach Tommy Bowden.
