If that were the case, then BYU would not have college football…which is played on Sarurdays.

I always thought Saturday was the day BYU had a problem with? I could be wrong but Isnt Saturday the Mormons Holy day?

The Big 12 hasn’t played their basketball tournament championship finale on a Sunday since 2008. Typically the Sunday championship finale on NCAA selection Sunday will work better to the advantage of Eastern Time Zone based leagues like the Big East or ACC, and the Big 12 makes a better case of getting more teams into the “big dance” by playing on the Saturday prior. While FOX has shown they can work with BYUtv in a recent FSN/BYUtv simulcast of a BYU/Oregon State football game, FOX TV Sports feels that by spending bucket-loads of $$$ on Big 12 rights entitles them to move such a championship back to Sunday at some point, something that including BYU in the league would preclude them from being able to do. It would be nice if FOX would acquiesce on this issue since academically I think the school presidents of the Big 12 would prefer BYU over West Virginia, given that BYU is the highest ranked non-AAU affiliated school for undergraduate students who move on into post-graduate work. The ACC and even SEC would not touch WVU for this reason.

Last time I checked, the Big 12 college basketball final is Saturday. I believe they moved it from Sunday since the final was too close to the NCAA Selection show and wasnt being taken into account in Big 12 seedings. Did you hear any news about the Big 12 wanting to move the Big 12 final back to Sunday? If not, the basketball championship wouldnt get in the way of BYU joining. I would love to see the Big East forced to take Temple as an all sports member. I want to see them begging on their knees. Id get a good laugh at that!
