The WAC will not be "over" but will instead become a non-football conference, filling the role currently occupied by the Great West, but with a more regional feel. Seattle, Boise State, and Denver will still be there. Utah Valley will be an easy addition.

Whoever joins the Big East as the next football-only member, either Air Force or Fresno State, will be options. They can then ask San Diego State to reconsider the Big West. New Mexico State will probably get left behind by MWCUSA as well.

From there, they can see if UT-Arlington wants to stick around, and then add UT-Pan Am. Otherwise, if UT-Arlington leaves, they can add UT-Pan Am and New Orleans just bto provide protection in the nearby Central Time Zone. The WAC will survive.

I think some of these universities should go independent and make their own schedules. Colleges like Southern Miss, BYU, Air Force are attractive but for some reasons the conferences in their areas don't have any interest. Take Virginia Tech, several years ago they weren"t an attractive market. Now I think they could compete in the mighty SEC or Big 10. I don't like these mega U's leaving out the smaller universities because their conferences deem them unworthy....
