Well, then stay 2 conferences, but play each other. You could still have a championship game, just for pride and maybe a big purse for the winning team.

Generally a very good article. However, Hawaii’s football only membership makes it MOST likely that either SJSU -or- Utah State is added, NOT BOTH. Neither school is currently a big media draw but the conference must have 8 to maintain an automatic qualifier to the men’s basketball tournament. Why would the MWC schools divide money up 10 ways when they can divide by 9?

If all these moves happen, then UTSA, Texas State, Louisiana Tech, Idaho, and New Mexico State will have to look at joining either Conference USA, the Sun Belt, or the Mountain West.
