Denver will have a short stay in the WAC, leaving the conference to join the Summit League. With the recent Summit addition of Nebraska-Omaha, the Summit has become a more attractive geographic option for Denver as the WAC continues to lose schools. The Summit might be a long term option for Denver, but they will continue to keep an eye out for a WCC invitation, their desired conference of choice.
The WAC seems to be on a path to add Grand Canyon University, currently in Division 2, as the replacement for Denver.
