Knight's NCAA Win Record Tied
Northern State men's basketball coach Don Meyer made history Saturday night when his team defeated Upper Iowa, 63-58, in Fayette, Iowa.
Meyer tied Bob Knight for the most coaching victories in NCAA men's basketball history with 902. Meyer and Knight are the only two coaches in NCAA men's basketball history to reach the 900-win plateau. After leading by as many as 17 in the first half, Northern State, which is ranked No. 19 in NCAA Division II, had to hold on for the victory. Kevin Ratzsch had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolves. Meyer, 64, is still recovering from a car accident that occurred Sept. 5. Doctors are in the early stages of determining a course of action for the treatment of cancer discovered in the aftermath of his collision.
