Perhaps it's best to start with a thread of your creation and then evolve it into a subforum if indeed the interest exists. This site is pretty straight forward...if something simple is wanted, we can make it happen.

If you build it, they will come...

Did you know that Canada has a ton of large universities that compete in the same kinds of sports our universities do? There are a lot of universities larger than the public football schools we follow in the US. That frankly suprised me. I just didn't think there would be as many large universities in Canada.

I knew Canada had universities and that they did play sports in Canada --- someone played against Steve Nash in High school and the canadian hockey teams come from somewhere --- but it never really hit me how similar Canada is to the US when it came to college athletics.

I know most Americans don't like, value, or appreciate Canadian football, but if you ignore that in your evaluation you see a ton of canadian colleges that frankly compare well to say the patriot league and the pioneer leagues.

I think that one day you will see a lot more crossing over ---especially in sparsely populated areas like the American Northwest and far northeast. Could schools like Idaho State or Maine one day only play football in the US and be a member of a Canadian conference in everything else? Today that wouldn't be possible, but tomorrow?

I really think you should create the CFL section to lure in more Canadian voices. Lets get more Canadians talking about changes and realignment in Canada that might eventually start applying to America.

It would be great if this site delved more into Canadian market issues too. I think one of the easiest ways to open this type of discussion to our "eh" to "Zed" challenged neighbors (joke!) would be to have a Canadian Football League forum. I am going to post some CFL threads into the NFL Forum with the hope that you will decide to expand the fan base for this place by adding in a Canadian Football League Forum and moving them there.

It would be great to have Canadians weighing in.
