Location: Portland! (and about time!)
I saw some of the ESPN comments about the value of football versus "minor sports," and understand the emotion, but I had to look at Men's Lacrosse.

Hofstra averaged over 4,200 this year for 5 home football games. About 21,000, yes?

The lacrosse team drew 20,241 over 8 home games. Average 2,530, to be sure. What's the cost difference between football and lacrosse?

Of course, it's fair to ask about the income difference as well... but I question if football was ever going to grow for Hofstra.

Less scholarships for lacrosse. All those football scholarships cost alot of money.

Hofstra will spend the next 20 years learning the Lamar lesson by dropping football.
