I think the annual "deadline" for making a decision on the invitation / acceptance is June 30th.

Perhaps when the NCAA D-1 Tourney is over, the discussion about Wichita State will get really serious.

Does anyone think that Gregg Marshall's wife's (drunken ?) profanity-laced tirade throughout the Kentucky game is going to hurt WSU, as it vies for an AAC invitation ?

Good point ! There's certainly a lot of hypocrisy over "ethics and behavior".

Winning trumps all. Except when money becomes an even bigger consideration.

It certainly is looking like the P5 conferences (plus maybe the Big East, AAC and A-10) are getting all the at-large berths anymore.
A 17-win team from a P5 conference is now assumed to be better than a 30-win team (Wichita State) from a mid-major.
Are RPI's now skewed to give that result, based on inter-conference scheduling ?

Wichita State would seem to have a good shot at the AAC, as an "other sports" compliment to Navy.

Is Gonzaga thinking they might be a similar compliment to Hawaii in the MWC ?
Not sure I see that as such a good fit, nor will the playing BB in the MWC help Goanzaga's RPI in an "off-year".

Illinois State (28-7) was a mid-major bubble team that missed getting a NCAA tournament bid. They have lost in the NIT
to UCF (23-11).

Those at-large selected looked like the committee did
well overall, using their criteria. The seedings
though, had some oddities and a tad of controversy.

In Women's basketball, Notre Dame got the Louisville
Regional again, while South Carolina as a #1 seed,
is sent to the west regional. SC, whose fans travel
well within reason, was not pleased as expressed
by their coach.

Notre Dame gets those favors.

Andy Katz had a ring-side seat (almost right in front of Gregg Marshall's wife) during her "performance" at the the Kentucky - WSU game Sunday....

Gordo's article says that WSU will likely be very strong in 2017-18, so the AAC needs to act soon, if they want to collect Wichita's NCAA credits for next year.

However, I THINK if WSU gets invited and accepts prior to June 30,2017, the earliest they may be able to join the AAC would be for the 2018-19 season.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

I don't know if this was posted but here:

They are making it out like it's a almost done deal. It sounds like they plan to announce it after the NCAA final.

And the AAC looks to become even more spread out. Sheesh. Are there any worthy schools actually in the AAC's footprint? The closest school to Wichita is U of Tulsa, 180 miles away. Southern Methodist is 360 miles away. Every other AAC school is a long plane ride, at least 600 miles from Wichita. In comparison, the FARTHEST that Wichita State had to travel in the MVC is 600 miles, to Indiana State. They better be paying Wichita State some BIG money to make up for the horrible road trips for all the Olympic sports.
