Mountainworthless members killed their own wac brethren to up their chances for inflated football rating. Now they want some of them back.Certainly a real nasty bunch.

Actually the main schools in the WAC only wanted to add UNLV and TCU back in 1996. Which the WAC then would have looked very similar to the MWC that might be born with Boise State in for Hawaii.

While I shall not embrace Tigershark's depreciating language as to the term for the MWC, there is a notable point, he made, in that history matters. Lingering impressions among and between WAC and MWC schools remain that influence their conference affiliations and development.

Look at the Big East's history, inclusive of the major recent changes, ie. departures, additions, Temple expulsion, etc. that will impact a long time, both positively and negatively, imagery and the relationship with certain individual schools, in and out of conference, as well as networking with another conference(s).

Another example, South Carolina's history with the ACC still yields residual attitudes.

Agree with your message, SportsKC, I believe the WAC did try to strive, not necessarily reach, for some parity with the MWC.

Latest Coaches poll shows TCU as the only non-BCS school in top 25.Final BCS poll top 25 to be released later today.I will be surprised if any other non-BCS school than TCU makes it in their top 25 either.Check it out at http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/usatpoll.htm

Didn't Georgia just handily win the SEC over LSU last evening? Auburn #7? Are the pollsters trying to make amends to Auburn over what happened last year? Auburn is tough and on another roll, but did not make it to the SEC championship game. So Auburn had edge Georgia, but Auburn lost to GT and GA beat GT. What's the point? Could throw Fla into the scenario somewhere. I better hush, but heck I am trying to liven up the board--talking about college sports favorites-- from the recent lull.

Of course she is. And BE is a long way removed from being an anchor conference.

BTW, for those keeping track of the BCS accumulated polls - as it will affect BCS membership after 2007 - the final top 25 for this year breaks down as follows:

5 each for the ACC, SEC and Big 10
3 each for the Big 12 and Pac 10
2 for the BE
1 for the MWC

(ND is the 25th)

A continuing horse race between the BE and MWC.
