What would that look like? Will/should it happen?
I don't think it will happen. CUSA has 12 currently. Unless there are other large changes such as:
Big East not being done taking schools. They might take some MAC schools and maybe others.
NotreDame situation. If they went to the Big10, the Pac10 would react by taking two schools from MWC or WAC
Then the MWC would replenish from the WAC and/or CUSA
CUSA would take from the WAC and the WAC would take from the SunBelt.
I just don't see CUSA taking schools from the SunBelt. They would be a good regional fit, but most of them aren't too good. The only schools that would make sense would be North Texas or LaTech.
I'd like to see the following:
MWC takes Boise State and TCU.
CUSA takes LaTech.
WAC takes Idaho.
SunBelt would need Florida Atlantic and Fla-International, maybe Western Kentucky to upgrade football.
MWC has 10 and a BCS bid.
CUSA keeps it's 12 and would be a great conference
WAC would keep their 9.
SunBelt would have the needed 8 full-time and would be a nice regional conference.
