Missouri St.
Liberty (problem, school's views)
N.Iowa (problem, stadium)
Illinois St.

To be fair, SHSU's stadium can be easily upgraded to FBS status, I'm not sure it constitutes a "problem."

The biggest problem for SHSU is that SFA isn't ready to upgrade, those two school and the rivalry mean a lot to people and I don't think it would be easy for SHSU to leave them behind. Upgrading the stadium would be easier by comparison.

When the SBC was shopping for schools last year...their list of possible schools looked a bit different than the one listed above.
If I could figure out how to upload an adobe file...I would attach it. The list contained the athletic budgets of the schools as well.

This the list of all the schools talking about FBS. The SBC part of the list stopped at Liberty. EKU if legit would be lumped in w/ the other 6 SBC options.

I am saying that I have a list made by the SBC that looks a bit different. The website won't let me upload an adobe file...so, I am having issues getting here for you to see.

The list contained the current SBC schools...and the potential SBC schools..along with their athletic budgets for men's and womens sports.

Is there a way to upload an adobe file?

I don't know, can you just copy and paste the other schools and post it here? It had like 20 schools right. I think I saw it posted on the CSN board last summer.

is this the list? I guess everyone I had was on the SBC list and then some. EKU is talking SBC is legit too there was a thread on it there.
http://csnbbs.com/thread-623500.html

"No decisions were made today to extend invitations to any school. We evaluated about 20 different perspective members and will continue to move forward with that."
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/..._co_1.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Sunbelt Commissioner Benson is talking about 20 prospective sunbelt members. If you leave out MNSU and Idho, there a 18 Schools who could or want to move up. Well that is my my guess:

Allready mentioned a possible fbs upgrade:
Liberty
Georgia Southern
Appy State
Jax State
Lamar
Sam Houston State

Some more:
JMU
UT Chattanooga
Northern Iowa
Missouri State
Alabama State (Brand new FBS Stadium)
McNeese State
Stony Brook
Fordham
NDSU
Illinois State
Southern Illinois
Stephen F Austin
Jackson State
Delaware
Towson
Youngstown State

OK that's 21 teams
I left out Big Sky Teams because they do not fit in the Sunbelt footprint

Who do you guess are these so called prospective members"

The go to SBC guy on the board said this...."Looking at 20 and actually considering 20 are two different things. "

It has the same teams but yours has a few extracted that are less of a legit option? yours is more in depth, csn & mine are just names of schools they're looking at. Chattanooga told the SBC no thanks a while back, when they were looking at App and Ga So.

The list came straight from the SBC. So, if schools are on the list...it's because the SBC wanted them on the list. I can't answer why UT Chatt. is on the list...but it was.
This list came from the FOIA from when the SBC was looking into App St. and G. Southern.
The SBC picked up four schools off this list....App St., NMSU, Idaho, and G. South.

I can tell you why b/c UTC didn't say no until right around the time they added App and GSU so this was before that. They were also on CSN board list which was also before they added who they did.

My list is only of schools who have mentioned looking into FBS, where those other 2 are SBC lists of who they would want. Just like WAC wanted Portland St., Cal Poly, Montana & Montana St. but they didn't want to leave the Big Sky for a watered down WAC that died.

Very impressive stats, despite that it had never brought or sent a school within the conference that had been a contender to be either ranked on the polls or a major bowl game under the BCS standings. C-USA was the closest within Houston in 2011 for a possible BCS game, even if the Cougars were highly ranked on the polls. The closest for the Sun Belt could had been UL-Lafayette, before losing their final two regular-season games. Otherwise, the Ragin' Cajuns would had 10-2 (11-2 with bowl game) instead of 8-4.

after reading the other articles given on this thread i thought i would add one as well. I still believe that it will be between Liberty and EKU. Both are very interested in a FBS move. SBC is very interested in getting a CCG and ASAP! However the SBC must also look for a geographical fit and travel partner for APP State. Therefore Liberty, EKU and even Coastal Carolina (Yes CCU is being thrown around now) are all good options. But Liberty and EKU are to two pushing the hardest to get in. Due to the concerns that come along with Liberty, i believe the edge goes to EKU who continue to make it known that they want to move up and are willing to do whatever they can to make it happen. See the article below!

From how it's spun, it sounds more like Liberty calling the SBC non-stop for consideration.

If Liberty gets into FBS ahead of James Madison...just...wow.
