This year's tiebreaker episode in the Big 12 South got me to thinking that the real problem is the Big 12's divisional alignment. Perhaps it's time to shake things up a bit:

American/National
=============
Texas/Oklahoma
Texas A&M/Oklahoma State
Baylor/Texas Tech
Kansas State/Kansas
Iowa State/Missouri
Nebraska/Colorado

Everyone plays their designated rival from the opposite division (i.e., Texas/Oklahoma) in addition to their five division rivals each year. The two remaining non-division games rotate so that all schools play each other at least twice every five years.

For example:

Year 1 - Texas plays Oklahoma State and Texas Tech
Year 2 - Texas plays Kansas and Missouri
Year 3 - Texas plays Colorado and Oklahoma State
Year 4 - Texas plays Texas Tech and Kansas
Year 5 - Texas plays Colorado and Missouri

that's not a bad suggestion...i would flip colorado and nebraska so nebraska and oklahoma could play every year, and i would flip baylor and texas tech so the texas public schools could play each other every year. since baylor is just happy to be in the big 12, them getting shifted away from the other texas schools would be more acceptable.

So what happens if you get a 3 way tie among Oklahoma, Ok St and Texas Tech (or Nebraska)?

Well if they are going to keep that eyesore together , I'd say your idea is a good one as it breaks the UT/OU block...
