If LSU loses to Georgia and LSU-Alabama stay 1-2 then these two rules would apply:

-The top two teams in the final BCS Standings shall play in the National Championship Game.

-No more than two teams from a conference may be selected, regardless of whether they are automatic qualifiers or at-large selections, unless two non-champions from the same conference are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the final BCS Standings.

It might actually be in the SEC's best interest to have LSU lose the SEC championship game since LSU and Bama are staying 1-2 pretty much no matter what happens. I hate the idea of two teams playing a rematch and neither is a conference champ though. Horrible horrible idea. PLAYOFF!!!

I know, wasn't it great when Atlanta beat New England last year in the BCS NFL Super Bowl since they were #1 and #2. Oh wait the rest of the world has playoffs for any and everything. Not the FBS. It's the equivalent of choosing to use a rotary phone over a cell. Or a typewriter over a computer.

If LSU loses to Georgia, they won't stay 1 or 2.

Most are saying it's a near lock that LSU remains in top 2 since a 1 loss LSU team (losing to #12 ranked Georgia who would then bump up to 7-8) would remain in the top two since the #3 school, OSU, would also have 1 loss (and it was a loss to Iowa St). Less not forget, LSU beat then #2 Alabama, #3 Oregon and just beat #3 Arkansas.\.with 7 of their 12 wins coming versus ranked teams.

A bunch of guys have already speculated it's just about a done deal, LSU vs Bama, like Jerry Palm, etc.

Yeah, but..

#16 West Virginia was out of the top 25 almost all season and just got back into the polls at 8-3.

#25 Miss State is now unranked at 6-6
#20 Auburn is now is now unranked at 7-5
#17 Florida is now unranked at 6-6

Between LSU and Alabama neither played South Carolina or Georgia. Apart from LSU's win over Oregon, I'm not too impressed. And let's not forget, that was an Oregon team still trying to find a QB, let's see that game today and on real neutral turf. I hope Georgia takes LSU down big.
