in case anyone is wondering, here is a link to how the acc will schedule football and men/womens basketball with 11 teams. it lists each schools primary partner for football as well as men/womens basketball.

What happens when they go to 12 teams. Because the acc is lying when they said they did not discuss expansion thats bs.

Also note that they have tentative football divisions in the event 11-member championship game would be approved

Division A: Clemson, Florida State, Maryland, North Carolina State, Wake Forest

Division B: Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech

Will these divisional alignments still be relevant if/when BC is invited?

Taylor-made for BC, Publius. Same division as Maryland, their closest competition & the 2 Notheast schools. It balances the 2 divisions with 4 publics & 2 privates in each one. It puts BC in the division that doesn't stretch quite as far south - Clemson instead of GA Tech & Florida State instead of Miami. And it shafts BC by denying them the annual game against Miami that they so desperately seek ;D & Miami by denying them any games in the Northeast ;D - although I'm sure that these could be scheduled as a cross-over match-ups.

As for tailor-made, I was thinking of an adaptation as follows:

A-Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryalnd, North Carolina State, Wake Forest

B-Boston College, Duke, Miami, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech

Annual inter-divisional rivals
A.
Clemson: Miami, Virginia Tech
Florida State: Miami, Virginia Tech
Georgia Tech: Boston College, Virginia
Maryland: Boston College, Virginia
North Carolina State: Duke, North Carolina
Wake Forest: Duke, Nortn Carolina
B.
Boston College: Georgia Tech, Virginia
Duke: North Carolina State, Wake Forest
Miami: Clemson, Florida State
North Carolina: Duke, Wake Forest
Virginia: Georgia Tech, Maryland
Virginia Tech: Clemson, Florida State

Basketball Rivals sub-groupings

A-BC, MD, VA, VT
B-Big 4
C-Clemson, FSU, GT, Miami
