Lash, I could be wrong, but I read Bullet's comment as "bad for BE's appeal prospects"

Trephin is right. That it was a summary judgement is bad for the BE chances for appeal. The judge has basically said the BE position has no merit.

You are right Lash, that this case is really totally separate from the damages case.

Bullet, less hope the ACC has BC eixt agreement in writting.

The legal field is very unpredicatable and this makes for great drama.

BC is paying a lot in legal fees so they are not getting off easy and would guess the Big East will keep the pressure on as long at there is a court to make the case.

When Villanova faxed the agreement to BC and they did not sign, I would expelled the school immediatly.

Additionally if I were the BE would mandate that no Big East school be permitted to shedule BC in any sport for the next 10 years.

Notre Dame football would be the exception as the school is an independent in football.

The Big East fight with Boston College has just started.

If the Big East was smart, they would just forget about the BC lawsuit and let 'em go. The BE would be smarter if they just turn the page and work hard to convince everyone how great the "new" BE will be in the future, instead of dragging out all these lawsuits and reminding everyone how much the BE was wounded by the departures.

I'm sure the BE won't just let it go, though. Tranghese seems like the kind of guy who will carry a grudge all the way to his grave. Actually, Tranghese seems like the kind of guy who will not only carry his grudges to his grave, he'll write in his will that his heirs are required to hate Miami and BC every day for the rest of their lives, too. ;D

USA Today carried an article recently about ND's intention to weaken its schedule by the end of the decade. Thus, TS2 might be proved right about ND's greater involvement with NBE teams.

It may not mean scheduling most BE teams though. If ND decides to drop USC, Michigan, Purdue, etc. as regulars, then there would be openings for more BE teams.
What does easier competition mean? Navy, their regular, is getting tougher. So has frequent opponent Air Force. Will Notre Dame be scheduling Temple, certain MAC and Sunbelt types? Maybe that game with Furman (a 1-AA school) that was once talked about with Notre Dame will become a reality ::).
Wonder how many powerhouse schools have been phoning Florida International recently offering them an away game only?
