the FB networks (CBS, ABC, and ESPN) are always taking swipes at the BE?

Just this past weekend Craig James and John Saunders (ABC) were saying how the BE auto bid will be gone.

Last weekend (or the week before) Tim Brando was saying how the BE doesn't deserve the auto bid.

Well, hopefully WVU can run the table. Next year will be interesting if Louisville can keep it rolling like they have so far this year.

Those SAgrin ratings don't look very good. Hopefully, they will pick up before the end of the year.

The BE didn't do themselves any favors for national perseption by having one of their members take a 1-AA team to OT and having another member lose to a 1-AA team.

While some pundits have pointed out the merits of several Big East members, others have taken the low road and offered shots at these schools. I will confess knowing that many BE members don't invest in FB to levels some other BCS schools do, but the conference is hardly table scraps. WVU and future member Louisville are very solid. UConn, Cuse and Pitt are all deserving mid-table programs that will have the occasional BCS calibre year. And the league remains above every other non-BC league.

As for the ratings, they mean little early in the season.

As the other thread reads, the BE is underrated.

Time for the BE to hire real good HC's.Look at Syracuse,Rutgers and Pitt.The poor HC is obvious.

I'd argue that the BE doesn't deserve the bid now, but being the main conference for the east coast megalopolis means getting three strikes, 9 lives, the benefit of the doubt multiplied, and, oh, the bird in the hand or something like that (gimme metaphors, I'll mix 'em up right!).

We all have to remember that the TV guys are no more experts in college sports than many of us on this board. The difference is they get to paid to state bad opinions on TV.

Its funny that ESPN is back tracking the predictation of the ACC as the best football conference in the pre season hype.

First of all, its always a safe bet to go with the SEC. At the top there is no better conference.

My prediction on this board as a amateur had the ACC improving with expansion, however, no way had them moving above the SEC.

Everyone probably did not predict the down fall of the Big 12 this year, so this one is understandable.

All Big East fans just need to ignore the bias opinions of the TV sports guys, and time will take care the BCS situation.

One way that helps is to poke fun at the TV sports men as as they squirm and make silly excuses after many bad predictions.

Remember they are paid for entertainiment purposes.

LOL! Well said Lash! We don't hear too much about how the MAC is the 6th or 7th best conference now like we did before the season.

Actually, everyone thought the Big 12 north would be weaker than usual this season. However, don't base everything on 2 games. Fresno St. is very good and Troy is apparently a lot better than anyone thought (wins over Marshall and Missouri and a close game at South Carolina). The Big 12 has the BEST ooc record vs. I-A this year and only twice since their founding in 1996 have they had a better pre-bowl ooc record than this year (75%).
