If they split, the strongest basketball schools would be the fb schools. :)
The remainign schools would still makeup one of the strognest conferences in the country:
Villanova would block any St. Joes additions.
There might be no need to expand any further...all it would do is split the conference revenues by more schools.
So if schools were invited, it would be to increase the market footprint.
Xavier (to replace Cincinnati and bridge the East coast schools to Notre Dame, Depaul and Marquette)
If they ever wanted to expand to 10-12:
St. Louis (expand into Big XII territory)
Charlotte (right in the heart of ACC country)
Richmond (partner for GT and same situation as Charlotte)
Dayton (great program and support, but very close to Xavier)
Umass (to replace BC and give Prov. a travel partner)
St. Joes (would Villanova let it happen? Probably not)
