A league source with intimate knowledge of the applicable NCAA regulations tells us that Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis might have rendered quarterback Brady Quinn and other incoming seniors ineligible if, as ProFootballTalk.com previously has reported, Weis has directed the seniors with designs on pro football to pick their agents before the start of the 2006 season.

Has anyone heard anything on this issue? rumor? fact?
If it is true there could be trouble under the Golden Dome.
There was an article several months ago about agents recruiting on behalf of Notre Dame engaged in hanky panky. Rumors have flourished about PRO connections and TV marketeers lobbying and enticing potential ND recruits.
Notre Dame gets to get away with a lot of things others would receive hefty penalties for pursuing.
Not being in a conference for fb is one layer accountability they don't have to face.
Dame and Shame have a closer association than just rhyming.
Man, are you barking up the wrong tree. ::)
1. This rumor was put to rest some time ago. Weis & Notre Dame did nothing improper.
2. The one hole in your theory about conference affiliation & accountability is that the biggest serial violators have all been long time conference members. In contrast, Notre Dame has run one of the cleanest programs in the history of college sports.
3. So, "Notre Dame gets away with a lot of things others would receive hefty penalties for pursuing." Really? :o Could you please be specific with examples of something ND has gotten away with & examples of others being penalized for the same thing.
4. Notre Dame has brough shame to college sports? :P What are you smoking? ;D With all the scandal ridden programs out there, you're going to home in on Notre Dame & single them out? Spare me. :'(
