I have heard several poster from the Pitt and SUs sites during the interview process that Pelini gave bad interviews. Obviously, I dont know what that was specifically. I am not sure but I don't think he was asked back for a second interview for either school.
He has a really odd demeanor. His results were impressive at Nebraska, but he was only there 1 year. He seemed to be a very emotional guy. That was odd for Nebraska after decades of stoic Tom Osborne and Frank Solich. He was the temporary head coach during the 2003 Alamo Bowl. I seemed to remember him blowing up over a call. He was popular in that short stint at Nebraska, but maybe he was awkward and emotional during the interview and it seemed odd giving him the reigns of a head coaching job. This is all based on his very short stint at Nebraska, so I could be wrong.
