Does anyone think the CAA would be better off not spreading itself from Boston to Atlanta? Maybe this league should have tried to mirror the "footprint" of the ACC.

The CAA should have continued to seek a travel partner for UNC-Wilmington by adding Coastal Carolina, which has football. A non-football member could have then come from the north to help Hofstra, but not as far north as Boston. Maybe a school like Fairleigh Dikcinson, which is in New Jersey.

Missed Opportunity CAA Line-Up:
CAA NORTH
- Hofstra .................... FB
* Fairleigh Dikcinson
- Drexel
- Delaware .................... FB
- Towson .................... FB
- George Mason
CAA SOUTH
- James Madison .................... FB
- Virginia Commonwealth
- William & Mary .................... FB
- Old Dominion
- UNC-Wilmington
* Coastal Carolina .................... FB

New York to South Carolina is more compact than Massachusetts to Georgia, but ... oh well ... good luck to the new CAA with Georgia Southern and Northeastern, anyway. Maybe the America East will pick up Fairleigh Dikcinson to replace Northeastern. Coastal Carolina is left to continue trying to beg its way into the Southern Conference.

Farleigh thingyinson?

Also, did anyone notice that Northeastern article's hints of a "master plan to move to I-A" and that it listed Saint Joseph's as a participant in last year's Final Four?

The computer automatically changes FDU's full name to "Fairleigh thingyinson" so I purposely misspelled it as Fairleigh Dikcinson. I guess the computer automatically interprets certain four-letter combinations as cuss words and censors all "offensive" posts.

Well, whatever, why is FDU suited to the CAA? That was the essence of my question...

It might be time for the CAA to say "screw this crap" with Northeastern and look south for its 12th member. There's a big gap now.

Ruiner, FDU was simply tossed in to illustrate the north-south thing. It's a decent school but probably not a CAA type school yet.

So are they going to start a football conference? It seems to me that Yeagar "Alabamas #1 enemy" is not the football type because he and the confeence are a basketball conference. So to hell with yeagar.
