WIT, CSICC?
For those who are acronym-challenged, it's: What is this, CollegeSportsInfo.com Classic?

I already posted an article in the "Conference Realignment News and Articles" section.

Southland here they come.....if they move up to DIAA football.

Unless if UCA drops football, they won't have much choice about moving to I-AA.

Now that Central Arkansas is a member of the Southland Conference (effective July 1, 2006), will the conference have a division alignment format?

Only 8 football teams, so no need for divisions there.

However, one would expect divisions for sports in which all 12 teams participate:

I'm guessing:

West - 6 Texas teams

East - 1 Texas team, 4 La teams, Central Ark.

I have not studied the geography, which is the eastern-most Texas team in the Southland ?

Dave, try checking the "Membership Map" at the Southland Conference's website and try to "idealize" a little. WARNING: Don't mind Louisiana-Monroe (now in 2K6-2K7 the Indians will be heading to the Sun Belt Conference) and here is my predicted alignment:

Southland Conference - East Division:

*Northwestern State (La.)
*Southeastern Louisiana (La.)
*Nicholls State (La.)
*McNeese State (La.)
*Central Arkansas
Lamar

Southland Conference - West Division:

Texas-Arlington
Texas-San Antonio
*Texas State-San Marcos
*Sam Houston State
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
*Stephen F. Austin State
Texas-Pan American (if possible in the future)

I hope this helps and "*" means the institution plays football. Take care.
