Well if they wanted to get BIG and have east and west divisions, they COULD merge with the Summit.

Not sure the divisional break-down would please the schools located in the middle.

On the plus side - a big conference could stand to lose a team now and then without anybody freaking out.
On the minus side - they might be throwing away auto-bids to various tournaments (losing an auto-bid to the NCAA D-1 BB tournament is worth some serious change every year).

Question for the group....

I think this IPFW to Horizon rumor got legs based on Purdue U. Board Meeting last night.

Is it not true that BOTH IUPUI and IPFW are administered by Indiana U. and Purdue U. ?

Indianapolis is the bigger market by far. Fort Wayne may have a baseball team, which helps the Horizon League (?)

Wait, why is Grand Canyon on the top finalists of the list to be considered as a future Horizon League member school? Realistically, it might cost huge travels for the schools. Look at the Summit having Denver as its outliner plus the Dakota schools & Oral Roberts.

I think that IUPU-FW (Fort Wayne) is one of the favorites, and in a future realignment, the Horizon would go for IUPUI. And who knows what will happen next?
