I saw a thread on a coastal carolina board that SC State, Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M, and Hampton were planning on possibly jumping the MEAC if the MEAC decides to go ahead with its desire for a Black College national championship game (basically, it's the Heritage Bowl with the SWAC all over again.) Anyone else hear anything on South Carolina State, Hampton, and Bethune-Cookman?

Maybe the Big South gets the football schools they need?

Hampton would want to entertain the possibility of the Northeast Conference, since most of the NEC's members are within a distance from Virginia comparable to most of the present MEAC membership.

I don't think Hampton is that interested in the Northeast Conference. The NEC is non-scholarship, and Hampton made a living on scholly football. Hampton has contacted the A10 about membership in the past. I think it is much more likely that Hampton will contact the CAA about membership. i can also see SC State and FAMU doing this.

Yeah lets see MEAC has schools in Delaware, Washington DC, Baltimore, also another school in the Hampton Roads area, plus one in NC. Plus another in SC. Only the Florida schools are far from Hampton. While the closest Northeast school is in New Jersey.
