AFA's men's lax to SoCon in 2016, making it an eight-team conference.

Surprised they couldn't work it out for 2015, given the SoCon has an odd number of teams.

I think the travel issue was a big one. Taking AFA so soon (Spring or Summer) would mean an almost immediate impact on the 2014-15 FY athletic budgets.

I've also read that AFA wasn't exactly "moving with a purpose" on it. When your AD publicly says SoCon, Patriot, and the Big East are desirable targets, you look like the one they should be courting. But, they aren't the ones in need of a conference...

The Southern Conference has decided not to move four championship games from the State of North Carolina this year. This concerns the controversial law that restricts LGBT rights in the state.

Which is exactly what the ACC should have done. Sports are about sports--people need to keep their liberal agendas out of it.

The "writer" didn't even touch on one of the most obvious questions: "why would either school possibly want to move to the SoCon" ?
