Are these schools coming out of the NAIA ?
(I have no record of them bing in NCAA - Div. III).

Arkansas-Fort Smith may not be able to crack the stuffed Gulf South, but is far enough West that they could join the Heartland or event the Lonestar Conference.

Briarcliffe should wind up in the Northeast 10 or East Coast Conference in fairly short order.

Urbana and Illinois-Springfield should find a home in one of the Great Lakes Conferences, although they may have to wait for Division I to make some room for them.

King College of Bristol, Tennessee doesn't appear to have a whole lot of options. The Gulf South is very overcrowded, the Peach Belt, South Atlantic and Conference Carolinas probably wouldn't want to take a school in Tennessee, and the SIAC would be a poor institutional fit.

St. Thomas and Northwood seem like locks for the Sunshine State conference, except adding both puts the conference at 11 schools. Distant West Florida probably wouldn't want to join the SSC. The NAIA's Florida Sun Conference is down to six schools once St. Thomas and Northwood leave-do they make a move on Georgia Southwestern and/or Shorter?

GA SW is already NCAA II and Shoter is too far north. Add Thomas University of GA, Voorhees College and Southeastern University.

Rumors
Mt.Vernon Nazarene, Notre Dame(OH), Cedarville want to join this Ohio Conference. There will be a meeting with the AMEC schools about this in the spring.

Carroll, Simon Fraser, UBC are being looked at by the GNAC for membership.

Also look for some schools in Oklahoma and/or Texas to move to D-II's Heartland Conf. 2 schools are leaving for other confernces putting their membership at 7.

On the NAIA board they are talking about a big announcement coming out of Carroll(MT) on thursday at 2PM. Which we think is that they are moving to D-II and the GNAC.
