One consideration for #12 in the Big West should be Denver which has strong Olympic sports and if needed could easily add baseball and softball if needed. If AFA or BYU goes to Big East then Denver could be their travel partner in the Big West and they could bring in Bakersfied or Seattle for 16
Yeah, gotta think the Big West will wait to see what goes on with the Big East. They must be loving that they keep getting the opportunity to add new schools, higher profile ones, and get paid to do it. For Boise St. it will be in money from the Big East, which could always change in the future to locked in Big East hoops OOC games.
With Boise St. in, there's an argument that they are the BYU travel partner.
If I'm the Big West, I sit back and wait until the Big East is all setup. If they take another western school, the Big West can take them and get paid for it.
If that doesn't happen, then maybe you do see schools like Seattle and Denver make the list for consideration to help out BYU and Boise St...the benefit being that both are in easy to get to markets via numerous airlines.
Just think that with BYU, Hawaii and Boise St. in the mix, waiting for a 4th FBS level school is much more worthwhile than forcing in a lower school like CSUB just to get to an even number.
