Information regarding CAA expansion endeavors obtained from a FoIA request via William & Mary.

Looks like Hofstra could be that low, after all.

For what it's worth, my personal preference would be for James Madison and Delaware to go to the MAC as full members and for the MAC to terminate its relationship with the disappointing UMass program. The pair make nice travel partners for MAC road trips in Olympic sports and I think it would be nice to see JMU and ODU arrange an annual OOC match up. Same for Delaware with Temple.

How about JMU and Delaware to MAC for all sports ?
UMass becomes a full mmeber, and they invite Youngstown State for 16...

Then they have 4 pods.... UMass, Delaware, JMU, and SUNY-Buffalo would be the eastern pod.

That works for me Tute. Pods can be:

Pod 1: UMass, SUNY-Buffalo, Delaware, JMU
Pod 2: Ohio, Kent St, Akron, Youngstown St
Pod 3: BG, Toledo, Miami, Ball St
Pod 4: EMU, CMU, WMU, NIU

Did JMU have an obligation to release the report? I'm curious considering Villanova talked up how theirs was so expensive and comprehensive, but never spoke of it in any other way. Delaware's is either in progress or completed without public release.

Did JMU lift its dress to show off its legs to a FBS suitor?

Yes, they want CUSA and the MAC to know they are coming and to start looking into expansion.

They could have just had those conversations privately, but by "announcing" it this way they have a little pressure from fans, adminstrators (at JMU and other schools), and the media behind them.

It also publically acknowledges their intent to move as well.

Thanks Freaked. Something that struck me as odd was the intentional vagueness concerning a future conference home and their claim that its impossible to estimate the travel budget they would need by moving. I think it would be fairly easy for JMU to do the math and figure out how much it would cost to get to MAC East, C-USA East, and SBC East schools. They also say in this report that they'd need an invitation to calculate that information. They essentially have a SBC invite in hand right now. The wording of this release makes me think that they will only consider moving if C-USA or the MAC come calling. The trouble with this of course is both of those leagues already have more than 12 members.

Yeah but the MAC could use a 14th member.
