Assuming that Liberty can no longer compete in the FCS, that means 5 Big South football schools in 2017, then 7 in 2018 (4 Big South full members, 2 A-Sun members, and 1 MAAC affiliate).
UNA won't be eligible for a post season bid for a few years, so the next few years are going to be dicey for the Big South.
I'm curious about Liberty's other sports. Would the Big South let Liberty to keep their sports in the conference? I also wonder if this is the reason why NMSU hasn't moved or looked at another conference.
