I find it interesting that 2 Mexican School (the University of Nuevo Leon and Monterrey Tech) are also interested in Divison II membership. Wonder if the NCAA would want to expand south too.

Get them to DI asap - finally close teams for UTPA to partner with :)

Both are in Monterrey, which is 150 miles from UTPA - only TAMU-CC would be as close

LIU-CW Post renamed LIU-Post. I wonder if the LIU system wants them to move up, they would be good for D-I.

Interesting to see LIU-Post go back to the NE-10. Do they offer scholarships currently? Or are they still non-scholarship in the PSAC?

With the two new schools, Murray said one idea being considered is to divide the 18 schools into three six-team divisions. Each team would play their divisional foes twice and every other member of the conference once, rotating on a home-and-away basis each season. That adds up to a 22-game conference schedule, the same number the teams currently play.

GLVC went to 3 Div. when they had 15, it's back to 2 now that they have 16.

Alderson-Broaddus will leave the WVIAC for the GMAC(half way down the article).

Not just OVU (according to the article) but Davis and Elkins, and Alderson-Broaddus (which has been reported in another thread as a done deal).

That would create a new home for all of the abandoned members of the former WVIAC, except Bluefield State.
It said that Bluefield State was reconsidering or "pulling out" of the deal to join the GMAC - where the hell do they plan on going ?
Maybe they think they'll be assured of getting the WVIAC auto-bids to all of the D-II championships until the conference is de-certified by the NCAA... (how sneaky !)

I would assume Bluefield as an HBCU is headed to the CIAA. Wonder if that conference will seek a 14th school or if someone is looking to upgrade.

Aha - Didn't know they are an HBCU. FYI- a USCAA member school called Virginia Univerity of Lynchburg had been eyeing membersip in he CIAA.

Found this article, stating that UP-J and Seton Hill to PSAC becomes official today... (some of the details regarding the WVIAC break-up aren't exactly correct...)

Problem is CIAA has all fb schools, even Va-Lynchburg has it. So they go 12/13 or 13/14? Conf Carolinas lost a couple of members and Bluefield St. is geographically close if the CIAA thing doesn't pan out.
