Email Virus Info -2/10/04

There have been various emails being sent that claim to be from collegesportsinfo.com. Some are labeled to be sent from "quinn@collegesportsinfo.com", "email@collegesportsinfo.com" and "updates@collegesportsinfo.com". Note that THESE EMAILS WERE NOT SENT FROM COLLEGESPORTSINFO.com. All emails sent from collegesportsinfo.com are sent using a Yahoo! account, "collegesportsinfo@yahoo.com". This is done to ensure additional security regarding sent and received emails, and to ensure that I can access these email accounts anytime, anywhere. So rest assure that there are no problems on our end and the emails are being sent due to a virus attack not associated with this website. What seems to have happened is that someone who received an email from this website at one time, had their system infected and in turn additional emails were passed on to everyone in their address book. The specific virus is called the "W32.Mydoom.A@mm" virus and uses subject headings such as "Hi"or "Test".
