Some will say that this weekend has done a lot to clear up the whole BCS picture. I think it's made it worse and it still can get worse. At this time, CBS Sportsline & Jerry Palm are predicting Miami will drop to 3rd in the BCS despite Notre Dame losing? How come? Because Ohio State will be the new #2.
So what does this all mean?
Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State and Oklahoma
Orange Bowl: Miami vs. ACC Champs (looking more and more like Florida St.)
Sugar Bowl: Georgia vs. Texas or Iowa St.
Rose Bowl: Washington St. vs. Notre Dame
The reason Notre Dame is going to the Rose Bowl is simple. Since Ohiop St. will be going to the Fiesta Bowl, the Rose Bowl gets the #1 choice to pick a team to play a Pac-10 champ. They could continue the Big-10/Pac-10 tradition or bring in Notre Dame which would drive up the potential revenues for the game. And it's not like the Rose Bowl will be breaking too much tradition since Notre Dame has played at the Rose Bowl before.
