no one supports keeping the sanctity of the regular season more than me, but this is becoming more and more apparent to be the logical option 11 conference champs plus five at large. to those who say this allows second place teams to win the nc, i say look at the nfl and their wildcard system and see if anyone complains, this is pretty much the same thing.

The selection committee gives out bids to the Division One Conference Champions. Selection Sunday is the Sunday night after the first Saturday in December. To be eligible for consideration schools must have completed their season including conference championships.

9 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS (IF CHAMPION IS RANKED IN BCS TOP 25)
3 TOP AT-LARGE TEAMS IN BCS POLL (IF A CHAMPION IS NOT RANKED, THEIR BID GOES TO ANOTHER AT LARGE TEAM)
The top four teams in the BCS poll gets a bye in the first round. The others play on the third Saturday in December at the homes of the higher seeds. The BCS would get naming sponsors for each game.
