Using the 2003 attendance link posted thoughtfully elsewhere on the board, the following average attendance figures were computed. They include all the moves announced so far (in 000):

Top tier: SEC - 74.1, Big 10 - 68.7

Second level: Big 12 - 56.8, ACC - 53.0, Pac 10 - 51.4

Third flight: NBE - 38.3, MWC - 34.0

Fourth group: CUSA 26.4, WAC - 23.5

Life support: MAC - 16.6, SB - 15.1

Others: ND - 80.8, Army - 30.8, Navy - 29.9, Temple -24.1

Obviously these are past attendance figures projected on future compositions. You would expect attendance to increase for schools moving into more competitve conferences.

WestWolf, I assume those numbers are in thousands and not percentage of capacity.

I would agree that some of the attendance figures will go up a bit. The N. and S. Aggies coming into the WAC should see a fair rise in attendance along with the 3 E-WAC teams moving to C-USA. Louisville, Cinci, etc... should also see a nice rise in attendance.

Overall the realignment should help conferences, as long as non are striped down to far.
