The NCAA Bowl certification committee holds it's annual meeting next tuesday in Florida.This year it will determine whether any of this years's three candidates get certification.The three applicants are from DC,Utah and St Pete.Article from Stewart Mandel at SI regarding this issue at http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/stewart_mandel/04/24/new.bowls

Report that NCAA has added DC bowl with the St Pete Bowl.Also,NCAA has approved SEC playing in Birmingham Bowl.No word yet on the fate of the proposed Rocky Mountain Bowl in Salt Lake City.Link at http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2008/04/papajohnscom_bowl_will_have_se.html

I think CUSA should give one of their bowl bids to the Sun Belt. The former IMO doesn't have as many good teams as a BCS conference and the latter really needs a second bowl bid because of Troy missing out last year.

Does anyone know what the payout is for the 2 new bowls. Also does anyone know if the meager payout for the Birmingham Bowl will be increased if the SEC is involved with the BE in that game.
