BE MB thread discussing above linked Clemson article discussing the increased SEC tv deals and how the new ACC tv deals will need to be competitive just to keep up.As previously noted, the total ND tv number is in the $12 million per year range.
The SEC tv deals will reportedly "average" about $17 million per school per year over 15 years.
However, the early numbers are showing that the initial year of the "back loaded "tv contracts "may" start out at about $12 million per school in 2009-2010,which would be in ND terrritory.
The Big Ten tv estimates are in excess of $15 million per school for 2009-2010.Their average number over the life of their deals will "likely" exceed $17 million per school per year even if they do not add ND in the future.

Article out of Portland with comments from OSU AD regarding OSU budget problems, the PAC 10 tv contracts and the Big Ten tv contracts.
According to AD De Carolis his program needs additional revenue streams to include more private donors and more tv revenue or he may have to cut sports teams in the future.
According to the article,"talks have begun for a PAC-10 Network along the lines of what the Big Ten now has through an all-sports agreement with Fox Sports".
According to DeCarolis,"in the first year of the contract, each Big Ten school reaped about $8 million from the network and nearly $18 million apiece when totaled with ABC and ESPN money. That compares to the Pac-10's current deals, which make each school about $6 million in total."Not sure where Mr. DeCarolis got these numbers but the Big Ten revenue figures appear high compared to previously published SBJ estimates. The Pac 10 number appears to be a rounded off estimate.
It should be interesting to see how the PAC-10/Fox negotiations turnout as they try to "leapfrog" the ACC in line for more tv dough.Link at http://www.portlandtribune.com/sports/s ... 0898574400

Article out of Arizona discussing(scroll down) Pac-10 tv situation.Arizona AD says that he has suggested to the league that they explore a joint conference tv network with a "major eastern conference".Does that sounds like the ACC?
The PAC-10 Presidents will further discuss their tv arrangements at their meeting next month in San Francisco.

There have been reports that Fox is in negotiations with the league regarding setting up a tv network.
How much signing bonus money does Fox have to offer the hungry PAC-10 schools before they pounce?
Also, will ESPN try to get involved with the PAC-10/ACC by using a rebranded ESPN Classic Channel?

As anticipated,ESPN has cut a deal with CSS(Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast)giving that regional cable net a package of SEC sports. No additional money will accrue to the SEC from this deal although the exposure should help SEC fans.Link at http://www.multichannel.com/article/263 ... C_Deal.php

Blog article from Bulldog country with comments from Georgia AD regarding SEC tv deals. He apparently says that Georgia will receive $8.56 million for FB and $2.1 million for BB which adds up to about $10.66 million for FB & BB in FY10.Also,he expects to receive an additional $400,000 per year for the next 10 years of the 15 year SEC tv contracts.
We will need to obtain additional SEC tv deal info before making a definitive assessment but this info combined with previous data tends to argue that the SEC tv deal monies for 2009-2010 will be seriously backloaded. Therefore it may turn out that the SEC tv money for FY10 will be closer to ND tv money than to Big Ten tv dough.Link at http://blogs.onlineathens.com/node/1064
