Pete Carroll might be going to the sea hawks and on the bottom line of espn that he is asking the office coordinator to go with him
Wow. Just saw Carroll the other day too. Would hate to see him leave USC, but the time might be right for him. It's been too hard the past few years to keep the agents away from the players.
yea, the thing has been updated.
A prominent USC source close to the athletic department said Friday that Carroll joining the Seahawks was "going down
Indeed. It would seem that Carroll had just about accepted in principle before they even fired Mora. In fact, it was Carroll saying "yes" that lead to Seattle firing Mora (and eating that money). They are interviewing the token minority candidate today as well. Such a joke rule: if you are firing a guy to hire a specific person, why bastardize the Rooney Rule by interviewing someone when you already have your guy.
They probably don't want to have problems later. It's also a good way to see other candidates in the case that pete Carroll doesn't work out.
My point being that they have their pick, their guy. One problem: he's white. So they can't hire him right away. They had to beg Frazier to interview with them. He turned them down. They said they'd fly to Minnesota to to it. So then he gave the OK.
Seattle fired Mora to hire Carroll. They didn't fire him to find another coach. They have their pick. It's an instance where I think the Rooney rule is a problem because Carroll can't get the job that Seattle fired their coach for just to give it to him. Instead they need convince a coach that KNOWS he's not getting the job, just because of the color of his skin.
