Results of a(apparently conducted by two Texas A&M professors) study that apparently concludes that the pressures of competing for BCS Championships causes BCS conference schools(especially the SEC) to commit more recruiting violations than non-BCS conference schools.Link at http://www.jsasonline.org/home/v1n1/art ... rticle.pdf

Wonder if those two Texas A&M professors, if still around, could each now have a signed football from a certain quarterback? Of course, free ones!

And look at the SI 4 part series on Oklahoma State. Those schools that quickly become very, very good, do draw attention in ways they don't desire.

Now, the Yahoo story of a few players from Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi State are alledgedly linked to payments from sports agents. Wonder what shall happen here? The NCAA with Alabama shall find the 'Bama players falsely accused? Shall Tennessee implement a one year, one scholarship reduction and the NCAA shall call it a noble self-imposed sanction? Mississippi State, on the other hand, shall be punished 'mercilessly' to send the message such shall not be tolerated.

What is the ideal college football player model?

Have your eligibility determined by Southern Cal on the way to a Heisman?
Get your body art done at a parlor close to Ohio State?
Find your bogus major and no-show classes at UNC?
Get a free hotel stay in So. Carolina?
Find your way to Auburn after Dad asks for contributions?
Show arrogance somewhere in Texas over your penmanship?
Promote a sad story about a loving, sick gf from the Internet as Heisman candidate hype, which turns out to be fodder for late-nite comics?
Outsmart the NCAA in a Miami minute.
Give generously to NCAA philanthropy, out-of-state of course, if you are a taxpayer in PA.

Really, this mess is all-over the place. The cars; fake and niffty jobs for players and families; boosters channeling money from some assistant coach's recommendation; numerous admissions and academic farces; inconsistent enforcements that have lost objectivity and immersed in political ploys; in-bed with agents tied to the pros; on and on.

Pay players? It looks like many are already getting well paid and tax free. And have that tutor do your classwork as long as you are eligible to play.
