14 team conferences might just work if they can bring enough media markets to make in feasible.
For instance:
SEC-Adds Texas and Oklahoma. Now wouldn't that make the SEC a super conference and its clearly better than what Texas and Oklahoma have now in the Big 12
ACC-Adds UConn and Syracuse. Can you say basketball? And a real NorthEastern Presence.
Big10/14-Adds ND, WVU and Pitt. Good rivals for PSU and OSU.
PAC-14-Adds New Mexico, Texas A&M, Colorado, and BYU. The PAC-10 controls the west.
Big-14-ColoradoSt, Utah, TCU, Houston, UNLV, and BoiseSt. The Big 12 reloads after losing Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Colorado to better conferences.
MWC-Fresno, Hawaii, UtahSt, Nevada, UTEP, NewMexicoSt, SanJoseSt, Idaho, North Texas, Montana. This conference is going to have to add 6 teams to get back to 8. The best its going to be able to do is 12 and that is with Montana upgrading.
CUSA-South Florida, Cinncinati, Louisville, TroySt. Big East hopefuls return back with conference reshuffling.
MAC-Adds Temple, Rutgers. The sly fox MAC conference once again manages to escape realignment unscathed.
Sun Belt-WKU, FAMU, FAU, FIU......to add to ULM, ULL, ArkansasSt, Middle Tennesse. Just enough to make a conference at 8.
Big East-Dissappears
WAC-Dissappears
So if every league went to 14 the Big East and the WAC would be history. One lesson learned from this exercise; TCU would be better off staying in CUSA in the short term to see how the realignment pans out. You never know when the trigger on realignment is pulled again. MWC is not good enough to make a move automatic.
I like your ideas joedadi ;D
