Here is CFN's Annual "We Believe" article. I particularly liked their thoughts on "overtimes should be counted in the BCS formula", "a capped point differential should be counted in the BCS formula" and "whenever possible, the Big Ten and Pac 10 must play in the Rose Bowl."

From the CFN staff, here's our yearly affirmation of our belief system about the world of college football.
We Believe...1998 | We Believe 1999 | We Believe 2000 | We Believe 2001 | We Believe 2002

... tradition must be preserved at almost all costs. Yes, progress is necessary and college football is a business, but one of the main selling points of the sport are the traditions and pageantry that most fans hold so dear.

... the ACC was in the right at every turn in the expansion of its league. For all the crying and whining that Mike Tranghese and the Big East has done, they shouldn't even think about trying to raid Conference USA or the MAC for teams to add.

... tearaway jerseys should be brought back.

... classic uniforms must never be changed. Oregon should be put on probation for the horrors inflicted upon its fans, players and all those who must watch this team.

... overtimes should be counted in the BCS formula. A win is a win, but pressure should be put on the coaches, and a reward should be given to those who try and end it before the gimmicky overtime.

... if you're a struggling program, you should run the option. No one wants to face a precision option rushing attack. If you're a great program, you should have one option quarterback on the roster to come in and change things up.

... the offensive line is a key to a college football team. An average college quarterback can become a star if he has ten days to throw.

... a capped point differential should be counted in the BCS formula. If Team A beats Team B by 7, and Team C beats Team B by 47, that should matter.

... as bizarre as the BCS is, there hasn't been a national champion yet under this system who didn't earn it. We used this last year, and it still applies.

... he won't ever be a beloved college football figure, but Brad Nessler is better than you think.

... the college football polls used in the BCS are absolutely ridiculous. Coaches don't know anything about any college football team other than their own, and the team they're preparing for. Writers are too busy covering their teams to watch other games. There has to be two rules when voting in a college football poll. 1) You must know the names of at least five players on every team you're voting for, and 2) you must submit a two to three sentence explanation after each selection about why you chose to vote a team where you did.

... whenever possible, the Big Ten and Pac 10 must play in the Rose Bowl.

... if you watched the Fiesta Bowl and still aren't a college football fan, you and soccer deserve each other.

... there must be a rule that non-conference games are played in a home-and-home series. If Kansas State wants to play Troy State at home, it has to go to Troy State the following year.

... games against D-IAA teams shouldn't count in the statistics, records, or standings.

... when all is said and done, the 2003 Oklahoma defense will go down as one of the best in college football history.

... until they get paid, you're not allowed to boo a college football player.

... no matter what the situation, always root for the guy to hit the kick.

... unless it's late in the fourth quarter, you never, ever, ever, ever, ever go for two.

... either you're on probation or you're not on probation. If you broke the rules, you shouldn't be on TV. You shouldn't be able to go to a bowl, and you shouldn't be able to share in the conference revenue from other bowl games. Those players who didn't have anything to do with the violations should be allowed to transfer without penalty.

... getting a scholarship, room, board, and meal money isn't the same thing as getting paid.

... all championship games between teams that have already played should be abolished. There should never be rematches.

... a legitimate case could be made that Ken Dorsey was the greatest college quarterback of all-time.

... just because you're undefeated, that doesn't necessarily mean you're great. Never confuse activity with achievement

... the uncatchable ball rule should be abolished.

... when the new ACC comes together, it'll challenge the Big XII, Big Ten and SEC as the premier conference in college football.

... players should always be eligible for the NFL.

... the NFL should be more like college football. College football shouldn't be more like the NFL.

Amen to the "home-and-home" rule! I also agree with the value of the O-line (quick, name OSU's starting quarterback from last year?) and not going for two until the fourth qtr. I will boo an opposing player but never my school's players. That soccer line hurt, though!

And they all said Amen, Almost.

I disagree with the Comment about the NEW ACC coming together, and the getting paid comment.

It would have to do ALOT of coming together to take the place as the premiere conference in the CFB landscape.

Getting a scholarship, meal money, room and board, is getting paid you morons! Especially to those of us who had to work our way through school. Those poor athletes.......
