I wonder why Warren Wilson isn't bringing its basketball to the NAIA. They play in the USCAA right now. Why not bring all sports in and join the AAC.

good job freaked! see if you can find all of the schools attempting to leave the NAIA in 2010. Also if 2009 rejects re-applied.

2010 D-II applicants
NW Oklahoma St.
Black Hills St.
S.Dakota Mines

2009 Rejects
Walsh
Malone
McKendree
Mt.Vernon Nazarene
Malone (JUCO)
CSU-San Marcos (No basketball)

2010 Rumors
W.Virginia Tech
S.Oregon
S.Nazarene
Menlo
Cumberland(TN)

NAIA to D-III moves, good luck with that. I hate tracking D-III.

My list of possible applicants for NAIA -> D-II (2010) is pretty close to yours, Fresno.

I also have a note that the following were pondering the move:
Carroll
British Columbia (follwoing Simon Fraser to the GNAC)

Another 2009 reject from Ohio was Ursuline, so I imagine they could re-apply.

I'm unfamiliar with
Menlo and
S. Nazarene.

Did they go by other names ? I see:
Pt. Loma Nazarene in CA (that entire conference is contemplating a move)
Olivet Nazarene in IL, and
Trevecca Nazarene in TN.

Thanks,
Tute

Quinn and FresnoStAlum, thanks for the posts.

Fresno, you are correct regarding LSUS to the Red River Athletic Conference.
Link to confirming article in the LSUS student paper at http://media.www.thealmagest.com/media/ ... 3706.shtml
And upon further review I see that the Shreveport Times confirming article was previously posted in another thread on this board.Link at http://shreveporttimes.com/article/2010 ... 001/sports

Not many schools left in the GCAC.

Would the Red River Athletic Conference take in the 4 New Orleans-area GCAC schools (Dillard, Southern, Xavier, Loyola) and go to 18 schools, or are these 4 schools screwed? It's too bad the Sooner Athletic Conference can't take Bacone and Livingston off the RRAC's hands.
