Unrealistic comparisons of D-I men's and women's basketball aside (read "parity"), is the NCAA really recognizing Summit's victories from a predecessor organization (AIAW) which it put out of business?

Well, there's always a chance will see a woman coaching men's bball someday. Just like we'll see a woman president.

Since coaching doesn't require you to be one gender, then this list that Pat Summitt now tops makes a lot of sense.

Didn't Tennessee State have a woman coach for the men's team? Again, Pat Summit and Dean "two-title" Smith weren't coaching at the same level..
