Photo shows new arena at Bentley. Looks nice.
I count 7 (?) rows of seats. Seems like max. seating capacity might be at most 2500-3000.
I guess that's enough, based on what they historically draw...

I guess this illustrates how a combined hockey / basketball building doesn't work so well...
Basketball draws far more.
Rink is 100 feet longer than BB court.
Need to keep the floor refrigerated most of the time for hockey / practices; this can lead to condensate formation and slippery (dangerous) basketball floors.

This article isn't very complimentary to municipal rinks.
That may be short-sighted.
Municipal rinks offer one huge advantage - cost sharing.
Yeah, on-campus arenas offer dedicated availability and would tend to draw bigger crowds, but they can cost in the $$$ tens of millions $$$ to build.

I think another article mentioned that Pitt was another college currently undergoing a study.

WOW - if approved, that's certainly enough money to do it up right !

That would seem to make them the most attractive (only) D-1 hockey program in SW USA.
That should in turn attract a lot of talent.
Not unlike Penn State's rapid ascent.

I think the NCHC would view this very favorably in terms of inviting them to join.
That's the conference that would appear to be the best fit...
