Interesting find, Freaked !

What the heck is going on at UAH ?

I understood their logic in dropping down to club hockey... now a sudden reversal ?
They need a conference affiliation for the long haul, and it appears the only possibility might be a cascade:
Hockey East adds #12 from ECAC or Atlantic Hockey.
If ECAC, then they take a replacement team from Atlantic Hockey.
Either opens up a slot (team #12 in Atlantic Hockey).

The problem is that Hockey East is dragging their feet, and this whole mess might take a year or two transpire, and UAH is bleeding money.

Who in the UAH adminstation suddenly had a change of heart and why ?

Thanks, Freaked.

That sure explains a lot.
The UAH program is going to continue to have money and recruiting troubles, and they have GOT to get a conference affiliation (which will help to some extent...)

More excellent finds, Freaked !

On the Connecticut front, my assumption matches that of the 3rd post....
UConn is seeing what is required to get their ducks in a row to potentially apply to become Hockey East #12.
They would seem to be a perfect fit from an institiutional perspective, however, to date their support of hockey isn't exactly first rate.
Maybe that is about to change. UConn definitely has the athletics budget to make it happen if they want to.....

Gee... then that could open a slot in Atlantic Hockey for UAH.....

Interesting, I doubt UAH has much of a chance, Iowa St is the biggest school name, but I have no idea about their program/facilities, another Minnesota team or Wisconsin makes a ton of sense too.

I live in Wisconsin and haven't heard anything from local media about Wisconsin-Green Bay adding a team. However, they would have an arena close by in the Resch Center (possibly too big about 10,000 seats, Brown County Arena might be a better choice size wise, I believe its about 6,000 seats) which actually hosts a regional for the NCAA Hockey Tournament this year. But that market might be over saturated for hockey. Green Bay has a USHL team in the Gamblers. There is also a Division III powerhouse in St. Norbert College which plays in the suburb of Ashwaubenon. Remember, Green Bay only has a population of 100,000.
