TS2 keeps saying that ND is going to be an affiliate with a promised 4 games a year. He also claims that Army and Navy are going to four games a year with the BE. He posted a Pittsburgh paper article on the BE board where ND promises to give 3 games. In the article the AD puts pride in the ND and BE relationship and says that they "will help the BE when it can to keep it's FB team an independent". Are they really helping the BE or really helping themselves? Of course for them it is all about ND.

BE FB have your meetings separate from the BB schools that voted not to accept Penn ST and away from ND who is playing one interest against the other for their own welfare. Vote as a block in the interest of FB and retaining the BCS bid as long as the BCS is around. A split BABE would produce a great BB conference too. If the BB schools had not voted the Penn St. out years ago then then it would probably look like this today

BB FB - All sports
St. Johns Penn St.
Prov Pitt
Nova Cuse
G'town Rutgers
ND W. Vir
Se. Hall Miami
BC
V. Tech
Conn.

You would have a great FB league that wouldn't be questioned and a great BB league to match. TV contracts would be great and bowls would be dumping the BE or forcing partnerships. And ND would not be able to manipulate the BE through the BB schools for their own selfish interests.

Instead the Future BABE might look like this:

Cuse
UMass - upgrading lights and new synthetic field. Needs
To put end zone seats up to get 30k and the
BABE invite. After a few seasons upgrade the
stadium by another 10-15k seats.
Rutgers
Pitt
W. Vir.
Conn.
L'ville
Cinn
USF
UCF - traveling partner for USF. Considered previously
over USF.
Future prospects for 12 conference with a championship game if the money and BCS bid dictate would come from Memphis, ECU, and Temple for the BB market if they can ever bring their FB up to a respectable level in the MAC with their new AD and FB coach.

For sure the BE is not going to 12 football schools. The acc even with its 13 thgame lost money per team.Getting schools like ecu, memphis(umass what a joke)are not gaining you more bcs money or higher tv revenue. What you would have is more teams with the same amount of money. This is hardly a reason to go to 12 teams. What you have is a set of deals or affilations in football over games and bowls between the ND alliance of ND,Army and Navy over on season games and non-bcs bowl games and tv.ND is already a BE member in other sports and Army and Navy (patriot members in other sports).Additionally the Toronto Bowl will provide another alliance between the MAC and the BE over on season games and non BCS bowls. The b10 will have a similar alliance over the motor city bowl with the MAC .

You have alliance on the brain. You must be a Transman clone or one of his kids. ND is not going past 3 OCC games. Neither is Army which only has Rutgers scheduled over the next 5 years. Navy max's out at three OCC games. The current schedules do not provide for a 4 game alliance through the split in 2010. They are fillers until then. You even posted a Pittsburgh Paper article on the BE boards that had the ND AD stating that his school would only schedule three games with the BE to keep it status quo so that they could keep their independence for FB. That is not a vote of confidence. It is a selfish me first and I'll take my marbles elsewhere if the whole things fold. ND is playing games with the BE , B-10 , and the ACC so that they can have their cake and eat it too. It is time for the BCS to tell them to join a conference and share the wealth or be left out. All of the other independents join conferences years ago. The Toronto bowl is being negotiate but has not been approved by the bowl system and there is no Apple Bowl. Nothing is concrete but a split date for the BE in 2010. Unless the BB league splits into 2 divisions with a championship game and H&A schedules the BE as it is is doomed. By the way even you have suggested over the year's that UMass be given a chance to move up to replace BC in the Boston area and keep this conference in a NE footprint. You keep swaying over time and blowing in the wind.

The donor is a louisville fan,who needs a braintransplant He does not like the fact of ND alliance so he throws stones at it no being perfect. Its better than not having 3 ND games and 2 ND non bcs bowls. It certainly is better than the crap the lies in cusa east. The split in 2010 is a large load of cusa east. crap. The Toronto bowl is set to be approved by April. That bring alliances and more money and games.Proof of crap statements from 2004 from the NAVY AD are worthless.

More regionalized crap from louisville fans.If they were so good why did the acc not take them in?The only split is in their log cab home not in the BE members".Keep current cusa east out of the BE"

Yes the arrogant idiot(posting with his own name) from louisville continues. The center of 1A sports is louisville. The entire BE should do whatever louisville fans want. They should throw out ND and non 1A football schools. They should take in memphis.Academically and athletically loiusville fans should understand they are far from the best and most important player in the BE.

Tigersharktwo, I do believe you are making mountains from molehills. The Louisville fans are all for a split of the current BE, and they are not alone in having this position. Futhermore, Notre Dame needs to be given an ultimatum: all-sports all the time, or get out, IMO. ND is hurting the Big East and other BCS conferences with their selfish stance on their so-called football "independence." ND would probably leave, and that would suit me just fine. The BCS should yank their autobid too. Make them earn it like C-USA and the MWC. As for the non-football schools, I've seen Louisville fans time and time again write posts to 'Nova fans to either get on the train, or stay off, the "train" being all-sports membership. Villanova is still undecided. The non-football schools will do fine in the Big East. The all-sports schools will do fine in a new conference. ND will do fine in the Big Ten.

Yes there are others in cusa south east who want to break up the BE so they can get in.ND will not given an ultimatum,.
While full ND membership in the BE would be the best solution, that is not going to happen. There is TOO MUCH money at stake. The lackluster group of cusa south east entrants for the BE will cost the BE big time money. As far as the donor of crappy thoughts is getting just what he deserves.

I think when the BE splits up, there will be two conferences. One of the conferences will have the "Big East Conference" as their name, and the other will be a whole new conference called the "Big South East Conference."

These will be the conference line-ups for both conferences:

The Big East Conference:

Dayton
DePaul
Detroit Mercy
Georgetown
Marquette
Notre Dame
Providence
St. John's
St. Louis
Seton Hall
Villanova
Xavier

The Big South East

Central Florida
Cincinnati
Connecticut
East Carolina
Louisville
Memphis
Pittsburgh
Rutgers
South Florida
Southern Mississippi
Syracuse
West Virginia

Now because this conference would have 4 northeastern schools, 1 midwestern school, and 7 southeastern school, it would default to being a southeastern conference, and the northeastern and 1 midwestern school would just be add-ons to what would then be a predominately southeastern conference. So despite the 4 northeastern schools, this new conference should reflect its predominantly regional location and be called "The Big South East."
