Half of the conference would be upgrades from I-AA:

Buffalo
Temple
UMass
Delaware
Liberty
App State
Georgia Southern
Florida Atlantic
Florida International

Is this the Small, or Little, East? The only I-AA schools that I could even see making the jump to D-IA would be Del, App St, Ga Sou, & Montana. Some of these schools listed might want to think about going down to D-IAA should they can actually compete, ie Buff, FIU, & FAU. Liberty has a better chance of if they drop to D2, i dont ever see them being a having a great season in DIA or -AA. I dont thik any bring conference changes will come until the proposed Big East breakup or if the BCS conferences decide their champion through the bowl games. And the rest of the participating DIA & I-AA converge and have the playoff system to detemine their champion. I feel the last suggestion would benefit the schools more, because it is pratically impossible for these schools to have the money and recruting ability of schools from the BCS conferences.

While there maybe a new 1A conference those schools already in a 1A conference are not likely members. If there is a new 1A conference it would likely come from the top teams of the CAA and Southern Conferences.

Marshall

South

Appalachian State

Great idea if you want to kill your football program at CFLA.ecu,MTU and Army and Navy.A better choice for the mwc is to add Portland State,Eastern Washington and Montana.

if you don't count the IAA playoffs, the IAA National Champion APP State's attendance this year was over 22,000. . The first couple rounds in the IAA playoffs usually have poor attendance.
